Talk2ThePaw is a dog-themed podcast with a difference. Rather than focus on training alone, we cover an array of canine related topics. In The Twilight Bark, we discuss the latest doggy news; the Doggler Effect gives us the opportunity to look at any new research that sheds light on man’s best friends; and finally, in Gadgets, Gizmos and Gastronomy we consider new innovations in the dog care industry. From time to time we tackle listeners’ questions in the Letterbox. Each episode concludes with a ‘Wagtastic Woof’, a truly marvellous dog that has done something remarkable. We believe our structure makes our podcast, or ‘dogcast’, unique. It is a celebration of all things dog.
Host Caroline Bartley has previously broadcast on national and local radio in Northern Ireland and has a long running passion for anything with four legs. Aside from possessing an encyclopaedic knowledge of 80’s music, she can also do a passable impression of a rather confused squirrel. Caroline is the proud owner of a 17-year-old, one-eyed, mixed breed that would almost certainly beat you in a fight.
Our Dog Nerd Scott Andrews has a range of canine related qualifications including instructor skills, dog aggression, dog handling, canine cognition and canine emotion. He ran a dog training business in the Netherlands for a number of years. When not studying for even more dog qualifications, Scott likes to do inadvertent impressions of Mick Jagger and see how many clothes pegs he can fit on his own face. Scott shares his life with a grumpy 8-year-old Scottish Terrier who has a powerful affinity for bagpipes.
We release an episode every three weeks, and we intend to complete an eight episode series before we taking break. Talk2ThePaw can be found on every good podcast provider including Apple, Spotify, Amazon, Google, Overcast, TuneIn, Podcast Addict, Pocketcast, Castro, Castbox, Podchaser, Deezer, Listen Notes and Player FM among others.
Talk2ThePaw started out as a hobby that merged both of our passions – dogs and broadcasting. As the dogcast has grown we have too, developing a style we hope listeners find to be both enjoyable and accessible. We’ve had downloads from every continent on the planet, and that is nothing short of mind-blowing!
